Peyote Visions
About This Video
Peyote visions are considered good luck and dis...
Peyote visions are considered good luck and dispensed to those deemed worthy by the god-spirits. Peyote, the Huicholes believe, opens the mind to a new way of experiencing the world. For centuries they have made an annual 300-mile pilgrimage to the deserts of San Luis Potosi to harvest peyote and return with it for use in their sacred rituals. It is the hallucinogenic aspect of the plant which accounts for many of the highly stylized and colorful yarn paintings. The Peyote Journey is just one aspect of Huichol culture and tradition under siege by outside forces, forced which threaten the very existence of this fragile people. Recently, military and local authorities have jailed peyoteros and confiscated the peyote they carried.

Although estimates of the number of people killed by the conflict in Darfur vary widely from 200,000 to 400,000, what is certain is that more than 2 million people have fled their homes because of the fighting, and 4 million are now in need of humanitarian assistance—making this one of the worst crises in the world today.

Hardy-Weinberg Equilibrium (HWE)....
p2 + 2pq + q2 = 1
p = frequency allele ("A") at a locus (def. 4) in the population
q = frequency allele ("a") at a locus in the population
p2 = frequency of homozygote A genotype in a population (that is, frequency of p squared, p X p, because you have two copies, AA, at a locus)
q2 = frequency of homozygote a genotype in a population
2pq = frequency of heterozygote genotype in a population

Vexatious litigation is legal action which is brought, regardless of its merits, solely to harass or subdue an adversary. It may take the form of a primary frivolous lawsuit or may be the repetitive, burdensome, and unwarranted filing of meritless motions in a matter which is otherwise a meritorious cause of action. Filing vexatious litigation is considered an abuse of the judicial process and may bring down sanctions on the offender. Roy L. Pearson, Jr., an Administrative Law Judge in the District of Columbia, who sued a dry-cleaner for $54 million for allegedly losing a pair of his trousers, is sometimes used as an example of a vexatious litigant.
Repeated and severe instances by a single lawyer or firm can result in eventual disbarment.
Some jurisdictions have a list of vexatious litigants: people who have repeatedly abused the legal system. Because lawyers could be disbarred for participating in the abuse, vexatious litigants are often unable to retain legal counsel, and therefore represent themselves in court. Those on the list are usually either forbidden from any further legal action or required to obtain prior permission from a senior judge before taking any legal action. The process by which a person is added to the list varies among jurisdictions.

COLD WAR KIDS
Band Website coldwarkids.com
Band Members "The next real literary 'rebels' in this country might well emerge as some weird bunch of anti-rebels, born oglers who dare somehow to back away from ironic watching, who have the childish gall actually to endorse and instantiate single-entendre principles. Who treat of plain old untrendy human troubles and emotions in U.S. life with reverence and conviction. Who eschew self-consciousness and hip fatigue. These anti-rebels would be outdated, of course, before they even started. Dead on the page. Too sincere. Clearly repressed. Backward, quaint, naive, anachronistic. Maybe that'll be the point. Maybe that's why they'll be the next real rebels. Real rebels, as far as I can see, risk disapproval. The old postmodern insurgents risked the gasp and squeal:shock disgust, outrage, censorship, accusations of socialism, anarchism, nihilism. Today's risks are different. The new rebels might be artists willing to riskthe yawn, rolled eyes, the cool smile, the nudged ribs, the parody of gifted ironists, the 'Oh how banal.' To risk accusations of sentimentality, melodrama. Of overcredulity. Of softness. Of willingness to be suckered by a world of lurkers and starers who fear gaze and ridicule above imprisonment without law. " DFW

Miller Time! Clip...
Back to Miller...Wether you agree with him or not...he's one the funniest people to come around...ever...I loved when he was on the Football commentary...I remember laughing to the floor listening to that..I liked Joe Dirt too. I don't like Ory as much...he seems to hate black people...which turns me off.
